Tech Mantra #1 'Simplenote'

How often has it happened that you heard an amazing dialogue while watching a movie but didnt note it down for lack of pen or paper? (or you were too lazy to go get one). How frequently have you been frustrated trying to recall that small jotting you made on your home desktop but don't have access to now, in your office? Are you simply fed up of those note taking apps that promise a trillion features but are miserable at performing the most basic ones? Worry no more. The Worldly Monk recommends 'Simplenote'.

Owned by Automattic - The company that also owns Wordpress.
Available on iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, Windows Desktop, Kindle Fire, Mac, Linux & as a web application.
Absolutely Free on all platforms.

Simplenote is the closest any app can get to doing what its name says. It is the dictionary defintion of simple when it comes to the two things a note-taking app should be best at - ease of taking notes and automatic cross-platform and cross-device syncing. No other app comes close to what Simplenote achieves in these two areas. However, if you're asking what it does in addition to these functions, you'll be a bit disappointed. Here's a list of all the pros and cons.

Pros:
-Simplest possible interface.

-Completely hassle-free, real-time syncing across devices and platforms. Note something, connect to the internet and forget it.

-Uses an unbelievably small amount of internet data for syncing.

-Organise your notes with single or multiple tags.

-Passcode protection to safeguard sensitive notes. (Though it is not recommended that you store sensitive financial data on any app.)

Cons:
-Absence of any kind of list-making capabilities.

-No embellishments offered on the text. (No bold, italics or underline)

Special Features:
-Time Travel! Didn't like those changes you made to the grocery list last week?Want the original grocery list? Go back in time & restore your note to any previous version that you want with just one touch!

-Collaborate and invite others to contribute to/edit your note. (Available on some versions of the app.)

-Publish your note with a URL.

The Worldly Monk rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Go ahead and download it today. It does what it says, brilliantly & with simplicity.

  1. Hello Worldly Monk, I recently came across pebble smart digi watch. Would you review the same for me?

Alternately, you can also start a food review wherein you can suggest food ideas to people.

Right now, as I am writing this comment, I am in Bangalore, thirsty for some coffee, if only some one could provide me with a list of cafe coffee day shops around me which serve hot coffee and and are light on one's wallet thus a person can have coffee and not be worried about his finances. . .

    1. Hi!
Thanks for showing interest in my blog & commenting.
Regarding your request for the review of the Pebble Digi Smart Watch, unfortunately I only review technology/gadgets/apps that I have used or have had a hands-on experience of.
Your suggestion for starting a food review section is a good one and I will try and look into it.
As far as CCD outlets in Bangalore are concerned, you can use this link to find an outlet near you. https://www.cafecoffeeday.com/shop-locator/the-lounge
Unfortunately, I don't have a personal travel experience of Bangalore to give any specific recommendations.
Thank you and keep visiting the blog and share it with your friends as well!
May I know how did you come to know about this blog? It'll help me advertise it better in the future.
